This policy explains how Padlord (padlord.co.uk) uses cookies and similar technologies, what they do, and the choices you have. The short version: we use a small number of essential cookies that the site can't work without, and we set no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. Optional analytics cookies would only ever run if you choose to accept them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between pages and visits, like keeping you signed in. Similar technologies such as local storage keep information on your device in the same way; we list both here so everything is in one place.
Essential cookies
These are required for the site and app to function, so they don't need consent under UK GDPR and PECR. They are first-party only: set by us, readable only by us.

Local storage
Padlord also keeps a little information in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, is never used to track you, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Optional analytics cookies
If (and only if) you accept, we use PostHog, an EU-hosted analytics tool, to see which pages and tools get used so we can improve them. Not a byte of it loads before you accept, and if you change your mind we stop capturing and clear its identifiers. We set no advertising cookies either way.

Separately, we use Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance; it works without cookies and without building a profile of you, so it runs regardless of your choice.
